Dr. Alice Blazer
Dr. Alice Blazer brings a rich variety of experience with animals to her practice of veterinary medicine. After receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis, she practiced medicine in California for a number of years before moving to Arizona in 1990. She received her certification as a Veterinary Acupuncturist in 1990. As a general practitioner, Dr. Blazer uses all of the resources that she can to provide comprehensive health care; these include medicine and surgery, acupuncture and other complementary therapies, nutrition, and behavior consultation to treat the entire animal. In addition to her career as a veterinarian, she works with performance dogs, training and competing in dog obedience and rally. She also raises the occasional litter of papillons. Dr. Blazer manages to find time to raise Paint horses for dressage competition. Also, she enjoys running with her dogs and reading.
Dr. Mindy Fontius
Dr. Fontius (pronounced Fon-Chus) joined our Stonecrest family in 2006 and comes to us from a small animal practice in Central Phoenix. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, she went to UCLA for undergrad (Go Bruins!), taught high school algebra for a year, and then attended The Ohio State for veterinary school. She loves all aspects of being a veterinarian and particularly enjoys client education (join her for our wellness talks), preventative medicine, geriatric care and dentistry. Dr. Fontius spends her "free" time hiking, traveling, doing community outreach, tutoring high school math and science, and exploring all that Phoenix has to offer.
