Hospital Manager
James, BS, CVT
Originally from Chicago, James moved to Arizona in 1994 with aspirations of becoming a member of the veterinary profession. He began as an eager kennel attendant, quickly advancing through the ranks. James later joined the Anthem Veterinary Technology program, becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician (C.V.T.). In pursuit of higher education, he earned a degree in Business Management, which led him to manage the veterinary department at one of the valley’s largest animal shelters.
In 2017, James reluctantly took a sabbatical from veterinary medicine, though he always knew he would return. That opportunity came when he met the Stonecrest team and felt inspired to join their dedicated group of professionals. By June 2023, James officially joined the team as a credentialed veterinary technician, bringing with him over three decades of experience in animal care. In May 2024, he stepped into the role of Hospital Manager, where he now oversees the hospital’s administrative operations. Despite his managerial focus, James often returns to his technician roots, using his hands-on skills to care for patients.
James is a cowboy at heart with a passion for the great outdoors. When he’s not tending to patients at Stonecrest, he can be found horseback riding with his daughter or spending time with his three dogs—Preston, Killian, and Charlie—and his bird, Danny DaTweeto. Dedicated to fostering a positive and supportive culture, James strives to create an environment that benefits both the team and the animals they serve
